Commercial Description:
This beer was originally brewed for a famous Reggae festival that happens each year here in Humboldt County. A malty bitter American Amber style ale. This mahogany hued ale brings an intense spectrum of hop flavors from the spicy aromatic to lingering bitter, all underscored by a full- bodied caramel richness. Try this brew with a little Jamaican Jerked Chicken.

Sampled at the Library Alehouse, Santa Monica, 12-02-04. Dark amber color, full, creamy head. Arom is large, warm, herbal, malty... Taste: lush mouthfeel, full on the palate, and very pleasing, earthy, meaty, plump...this is an exemplary amber ale, one that never lacks in flavor or in body, and after this one draft pint, i must say surely ranks among the best available in the U.S. As I was in the company of others, my notes were brief and succint, so no over-effusive typical monkish rambling this time, but it was thoroughly enjoyed and will be long-remembered!

Very beautiful, amber color. Taste and aroma seemed to be off but when tried a second bottle later on it seemed to be the same.

Billowing sandy head atop a dark red and brown body. Skunky, grassy malt aroma, quite starchy. Metallic and blood-like aroma as well... the taste is a little fishy with some maple malt and plum flavors... hoppy but without any sweetness. Graham crackers and wood are very pronounced.

Nice red color, small off white head that faded quickly leaving little behind. The aroma was light malt with maybe some hints at fruit and hops. The flavor was malt and fruity with a decent hop presence and decent mild bitterness at the end.Nothing special but worth another try at some later time.

(Draught) Sampled at the Empire State Brewing Festival 2004. Deep-orange coloured and cloudy body with an almond head. Nose and flavour is MEGA malty and hoppy - yet strangely balanced. Very amazing beer - I look forward to sampling this one again!

Sampled at Empire Brewfest. Slightly citrus aroma with maltiness noted. Chocolate hints. A nice balanced aroma. Hazy amber color with a light yellow head. Sweet, malty, hints of smoke, nice light hops to finish. This is very good and easy drinking. Probably the beer I enjoyed most from the festival.
