| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 2, 2007 The aroma is hoppy with lots of sweet malt. There is the necessary pine and citrus found in American IPA’s in both the aroma and taste but it also has an astringent quality that is not that great. But, the malt that is in it is quality. The palate is smooth. I really do like this beer but the astringent factor is a bit much. Ibrew2or3 (2766), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 31, 2007 Pours clear copper until the sediment dropped into the glass. Now the copper has a hazy orange hue to go along with a thin off white head. There’s still sediment sludge left behind in the bottle. The aroma has sharp citrus hop notes with grapefruit juice bitterness being the main one followed by tangelo and a hint of sweet orange juice. I can just smell a vague malt sweetness too. The taste has several levels and varieties of citrus hops just like the nose. Initially I get sweet orange juice followed by a tart grapefruit and then tangelo hop bitterness. Very nice. There’s also a hint of malt behind all of the hops. DeweyDell (157), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 30, 2007 12 oz stubby bottle. Smells more sweet than hoppy, with lots of citrus. The hops are present in the flavor though... not very strong, but the flavor is actually really good. Not what I would expect from an IPA, but this is very drinkable... a great any-day beer. mhelgason (495), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 4, 2007 Bottle. Average white, foamy head (almost fully dissapating). Murky orange hue with small particles swimming around. Aroma is pretty standard: citrus and molasses. Flavor is a bit fuller than I expected from aroma. Sweet on the initial flavor with some bitterness in the end. Short duration of finish. But, I do like this beer, I could drink ’em all day (especially out in the sun) maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 29, 2007 A wierd IPA. Pour was a dark amber with no head. Aroma of pine and hops. Taste was very sweet for an IPA. The malt and hops hit you at the same time with the malt coming to the front and hops in the aftertaste. Very wet tasting and very thick. First beer I’ve had from Mad River and will be easy to outdo. Bailz316 (221), Mendham, New Jersey, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 19, 2007 This is a milder IPA than all of the standards. It gives a straight forward taste of piney/citrus hops with a medium malt body. very drinkable though
