Very good looking beer, it is a very hazy, dark orange, with a beautiful thick, billowy off white head, loads of great lace down the glass.
Nice hoppy aroma though quite reserved compared to other West Coast IPAs.
the flavour is also quite hoppy but it is not over the top and there is a very complex malt backbone to it. Finishes quite sweet.
The mouthfeel is the best part of this beer forme. Its very slick, smooth and almost velevety and quite "full" for the style.
A nice ,not over the top IPA with a great mouthfeel..will drink again.

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/20 | Aug 13, 2005 Poured a hazy golden orange color with a huge off white head. Aroma is sweet and sugary with some spice and fruit. Almost belgianesque. Well I think I know where the aroma came from. This has to be infected because no other ratings say this is so sour. Which it is. Very tart with a bitter finish. Tastes like an over hopped fruit lambic. My 2nd drain pour ever. Bockyhorsey (2552), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 6, 2005 Had that good pine ipa aroma but this beer went downhill from there. Had a light copper body and the was virtualy no head, somewhat flat. Tasted like peachs from the tree that have been sitting on the kitchen counter for awhile. Felt like warm slush on palate.. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 31, 2005 Hazy amber body, medium off-white head. Piney, earthy hops aroma with slight oxidation, backed by biscuity malts. Caramely, grassy, somewhat fruity body with an earthy finish. I’ve had this bottle for a few months, and the hops have mellowed out and there is slight oxidation. It’s still a decent beer, however. Thanks jah noth for the bygone trade! Cloudy yellow to orange with a good size head that compresses down in a lazy fashion. Mild orange sweetness with a nice balanced hop finish. This is the flavor I want from an IPA. This refreshes because it balances the hop content. Very tasty and that oranze zing gets you smiling as you drink it. Great beer. haddon90 (1036), Alexandria, Virginia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 4, 2005 Bought this 12 oz bottle at Whole Foods in Vienna, VA. Hazy, orangy pour wiht a bubbly, white head. Could smell the hops from the pour. Some tart, and citrusy aromas as well. Very light hops flavor. More of an orangy zest. Lacks on being a true IPA. Maybe a bad bottle.
