| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 30, 2008 St. Petersburg, Fl. - Shep’s Deli - 12 oz bottle. Dark orange pour with a thin white ring for a head. Hearty aroma with some syrupy and sprucey notes. Flavor has the requisite grapefruity notes. some maple syrup, a touch of candied sugar notes - not unlike some Belgians. Thick, rich, chewy mouthfeel. Better than expected. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 17, 2008 Slightly underrated IPA from a slightly underrated brewery. It’s a solid West Coast IPA that has some resemblance to Acme’s offering, but with the malts clearly taking a backseat here to the rich hop palate. Mostly bitter, a bit sticky, but well balanced enough to be worth returning to. glennmastrange (857), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 3, 2008 Bottle. Moderate malt aroma of caramel, pine herbs and citrus peel for the hops, light dough for the yeast with apricot in the background. Head is small, fizzy white with no lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is murky amber tan. Flavor starts lightly sweet and acidic and finishes lightly sweet and bitter and moderately acidic. Palate is watery but sticky, medium with a soft carbonation. It finishes lightly astringent. It smells nice, like an IPA, but it’s flavors are a little out of balance. spikester (602), Salem, Oregon, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 21, 2008 Pours deep amber with 1" cream color head, few lacings. Aroma pine needles, resins, herbal. Taste is good amount of citrus hops with sweet rich malts. Pretty well balanced for an IPA. Some winey qualities due to 7% abv. mcmd (138), Louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 16, 2008 pours hazy dark orange with a reddish hue almost amber, thin head which diminishes quickly. Aroma of citrus- grapefruit, peach maybe, lemon, tea. Flavor is malt heavy with the citrus hops in their as well but subdued, reminds me of iced tea with lemon. Nothing groundbreaking, but a very nice pleasant and drinkable beer - good summertime beer.
Better than a 67 percentile - probably would do better in a pale ale category. PWalk (337), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/20 | Jun 8, 2008 I wasn’t impressed with this beer at all. Little to no hops in the aroma, flavor, etc... Actually tasted like they had flip flopped and added more malt to this one. It was smooth for sure but that was the only discernable highlight. Nothing in the finish. vulcanmeister (102), La Grande, Oregon, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 17, 2008 Poured from a bottle, this golden brew hits you with a butterscotch and sharp citrus fragrance, abundant carbonation and a nice long-lasting head. Many small particles dance lively in this amber offering. Mouthfeel is rich and creamy, with a pleasant sweetness and yet a a very nice bitter bite. Later the thick floral and citrus notes swirl around on the tongue. At the finish, the bitter notes fade, a rushing warmth of alcohol and a final quiet floral (rose?) bouquet. Much more than I expected. Cheers! MrStitch (138), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 17, 2008 12oz Bottle. Pours a golden color with a big off white head and leaves minimal lacing. Aroma is light, hops, citrus, and sweet malts. Flavor is also light, a bit on the malty side followed up by minimal tartness from the hops. Not a bad IPA but could use a bit more hops. Overall it would be a fine summer at the park beer... middle of the road.
