Pours a murky orange color with a thin off-white head that almost completely evaporates away but somehow there’s a little sticky lacing. The aroma is fresh and almost non-existant with the strongest, and really only scent, being a sweet fruity malt. Sweet malty flavor, caramel, oranges, with subtle hops towards the finish. The bottle states that this is their west coast version of the style. I suppose the malty-caramel-orange base is on par with the style but without the aggressive, or really hardly any hops, it ends up being just sweet and syrupy. This isn’t an awful beer but it was a bit of a disappointment.

Jan 7, 2009 Poured a amber orange with a thin white head. Aroma of citrus, hops and pine. Taste was pretty sweet and the hops didn’t jump out me like I typically expect from an IPA. Decent carbonation. Not a bad beer but not the best IPA I have had - more along the lines of a Pale Ale to me.

Dec 23, 2008 12oz bottle-pours a rich offwhite head with amber color. Aroma is mild pine/floral/some citrus hops then medium malt in background. Taste is medim malt-caramel/brown sugar, pine/floral/some citrus hops. Medium body. Thanks jwc215 for sharing this.

Dec 21, 2008 Orangey Amber color, lemony orange pine smell. rather floral and mildly filtered if I remember correctly. Much citrus shows through.

Dec 21, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a few bubbles floating around the surface, but no other head to speak of. Aromas of apple juice, floral hops and lemon. Flavor is a crisp combination of lemon peels and pine.

Nov 20, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a golden yellow with a thin, off-white head. Pleasant citrus-hop aroma. A hoppy, sweet beer with a dry finish. Surprisingly good for a beer whose six pack costs about the same as Budweiser.
