12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Clear reddish amber with lasting flat head. Brown sugar fruit compost and alcohol aroma. Very sweet brown sugar and fruit syrup flavor with medium finishing bitteness. Full body and medium low carbo. The low carbo makes for a nice soft mouthfeel which makes this average barleywine pretty darn good.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazy medium amber color with a patchy disappearing white head. The aroma is heavy on fruits, some caramel malt, with hints of west coast hops. The flavor is moderately sweet caramel malt, fruity (figs, dates, peaches), dessert liquor, and a general bitterness to the finish. The aroma and first sip indicate this should be a good beer. Unfortunately, the finish leaves much to be desired. Thick and syrupy.

Bottle from Snojerk321 in trade, thank you! Poured into snifter- has 85% transparency, light-medium carbonation of tiny bubbles, color of light brownish amber. Aroma of sourbread, pine resin, and hops. Hits the mouth with a wide body, the hops are a touch overpowering and out of balance, finish has a sweet caramel and pepper note to it. Good effort.

Bottle from Beerlando. Pours a clody amber color with a a thin head that dissipates quickly. Has a medium mouthfeel and smells like alcohol. I was breathing alcohol on the first sip. It seemed to get somewhat better as I drank it. Flavors of light caramel, alcohol, and some citrus come through.

A well melded barleywine, by that I mean hoppy (pine and grapefruit) in fits and starts then nicely malty (bread, a little sour). Caramel flavors. Nothing outrageous, but it is good. Not sure I’d want to age it as I wonder if it would oxidize quickly (it just has that feel...). Lovely gold, a little slippery in the mouthfeel, bready, back of the throat aftertaste that is a little sticky.

This was a really nice barleywine. Finally got to have it at Elmer Sudd’s in Wilkes-Barre too.

Orlando, Fl. - Knightly Spirits - 12 oz bottle.Dark golden to light copper pour, creamy white head. Strong boozy aroma, some ambrosia fruit salad in there. Muddled flavor, not as fruit forward as most barley wines, booziness is very prevalent. Some maple syrup sweetness, a hint of grapefruity citrus, some nuttiness, but the alcohol pervades it. Slightly medicinal. Thickish, rich mouthfeel. Overall, needs some work if I had patience, would age this one.
