Thanks to lb4lb for the bottle. Pour is a browinsh amber with a tiny head. Smells sweet and malty. Maybe some grass and earth, but sweet for sure. Not bad. Tastes kinda leathery and sweet at the same time. Mild hopping is pleaseant. A little warm with alcohol, but not bad. Good body, creamy and smooth.

clear orange red with medium thick frothy head. Citrus hop mixed with sweet chewy orange pekoe tea and earthy spice, brandies cherries. This seems like a good beer to combat the flu.

On draft @ Linkery. I really liked this brew. Very drinkable for it’s ABV with a hint of some sort of spice I couldn’t quite put my finger on. Tasted young, which it probably was, but it was actually a refreshing barley wine. Kind of like one of those barley wines you can "go to". Looked fantastic in the jumbo goblet they served it in at The Linkery and went well with my choucroute.

Aroma has hints of dark fruits, spice, and an underlying current of alcohol. Pours a reddish-amber, with a quickly fading slightly off-white head. The flavor doesn’t seem as bold as most barleywines. There’s a sweetness, and an almost astringent bitterness lurking behind it. Mouthfeel has a touch of the standard syrupy texture. Not a bad barleywine, but not really worth the price.

Bottle 2007 from Dilly Deli. Poured clear copper color with medium frothy light brown head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Complex aroma of tart fruit and alcohol. Medium to full body with thick texture. Complex bittersweet dark fruit flavor with medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. May be better in two years.

Bottle. Pours a murky, light golden amber color. Very little head. Fizzy wet lacing sticks to the glass. Aroma of molasses, apricot, various intriguing spices, plum. Flavor is pretty characteristic of a barley wine. Molasses, caramel, raisin. Warming mouthfeel. Toffee-like aftertaste. Enjoyable. Heavy body, with syrupy texture. Bitter finish. I like this.

12 oz. bottle purchased at Central Market in Mill Creek, WA. (2007 vintage.) Pours a dark reddish amber, with a slightly spicy flavor profile. The higher alcohol content is more obvious with this beer.

12 oz bottle (2007) from bottletrek.com. Pours amber with a hint of red, no head. Not much of an aroma, just some sweet malt and alcohol. Flavor had fruit notes with some spice. Short finish, definite alcohol warming sensation. Overall, unbalanced and rough around the edges. I am going to cellar for a year or more and see what happens then.
