Poured a hazy copper-amber with a small frothy beige-almond head. Big lacing and a nose of resinous hops and sticky malts. Fruity, mildly boozy, and semi-earthy. Sharp mouth feel. Strong alcoholic flavor, slightly cloying, but mostly smooth. Warming finish that is rather mild and thin. Overall, pretty nice winter brew.

Pours a hazy copper with tan head. The aroma has light dark fruitiness, some rich creamy caramel candy sweetness that is then disrupted with mild stale grains and alcohol. The taste is nice and vaguely SN Bigfoot Ale like with both light dark fruitiness coming first along with pine hop bitterness. Then a rich caramel candy and chocolate maltiness surfaces about midway. Toward the finish dry roasted malts, hints of toffee and then the distraction of stale grains kind of finish the taste experience with a mild dose of alcohol. A couple more years of age, a bit less pine hops and better grains (non organic maybe) and this would be a stellar offering.

The aroma is of strong malt and raisin. The appearance is a text book good beer appearance. The flavor is great, malty and spicy, one of my favorite barleywines.

Pours nice copper hue. Nose is sweet and malty, with some caramel. Flavor is malty and quite strong. Alcohol is very noticeable, and there is a burn that lingers. Pretty good, but not great.

12 oz bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar. Upon pouring into the glass cup an instant aroma of sweet malt can be detected. Also, the nose will allow for a scent of caramel and alcohol to be found too. The color is a cross between an amber and mahogany color, and have a very short lived fizzy head. The drink is heavy and gives the reminder of the alcohol content it holds right from the start. The flavor is mainly a sweet sugar with strong malt backbone. I love barley wines but this one wasn’t anything special.

2007 Bottle Labled 10.8% Alc. Pours a hazy amber with a small ring of a head that leaves minimal lacing. Aroma of sweet malt, caramel, and earthy hops. Taste is the same as aroma with a hint of citrus. Medium full mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness and slight astringency. Not the best BW but very drinkable.
