| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 7, 2007 Bottle. Steelhead 2IPA pours a light brown color which supports a small head that dies down quickly and leaves a thin film of bubbles on the surface. Aromas are indicative of the best that an double IPA can offer: a mix of pineapple and grapefruit, sticky and sweet malt, and more pineapple. Mouthfeel is thick and it’s the first characteristic I note, even before taste starts to blossom. There is just a touch of that sweet caramel malt that develops before the hops gives way to pineapple sweetness and then a bitter grapefruit and pine finish. The beer is excedingly well balanced and very enjoyable... even in August. I’m surprised this is not rated much higher. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 5, 2007 This draft brew from the Oregon Brewers festival poured a large sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a hazy typically carbonated brown colored body and a very good lacing. The mild aroma was hoppy and floral. The smooth mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of hops and floral. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again. KieferUGA (461), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Floral aroma that stays in your sinuses. Tasty maltfeel to go along with a bittering finish. Very drinkable. DrBayern (1137), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 31, 2007 12 oz. bottle pours a faintly hazy burnt orange with a medium off white head. Strong citrus aroma, but complemented by a rich toffee, and some light stone fruit as well. Very resinous, medium body, and light carbonation. Quite malty as expected, easily checked by a massive grapefruit peel bitterness that is quite persistent. MI2CA (1266), Noblesville, Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 27, 2007 12oz - Aroma is grapefruit hops and caramel corn. Pours transparent orange with a medium head and great lacing. Flavor is orange/grapefruit hops with a solid caramel malt back. Palate is smooth, not as bitter as I was expecting. A very nice IPA or a tame IIPA, I don’t care what you call it, tastes good to me. badgerben (3600), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 27, 2007 Courtesy of Skyview. Dark gold color with a thin head. Grapefruit aroma and taste. Slightly sour and bitter finish. Hard to distinguish any particular hops, just fairly bitter finish. Did not strike me as Double anything. tbookman (618), Ephrata, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 27, 2007 Slightly hazy golden color - medium head & lots of lacing. Aroma of cirtus, pine, orange peel and hint of rum. Fairly bold hop flavor - strnng on the citrus hops, but with some flavor of grassy hops, dry malt and some residual sweetness. Body is kind of syrupy but end up finishing pretty dry. Nice IPA.
