Commercial Description:
The original Extra Pale Ale, this is the one that started it all. Our first brew was introduced in 1989 in Golden Gate style kegs. We have stayed true to our beginnings and still brew it the way we did back then. A bright golden hued ale with a medium body and a crisp spicy /floral hop character and very mild bitterness. This unfiltered ale has a pleasing mouth feel and remains our most popular brew. This beer goes with everything and every occasion.

Bottle... Poured clear golden color with a nice white head, but faded quickly. Aroma was mostly malt characters that reminded me more of a lager. Crisp palate and overall theme if the brew, mostly malt and toasted caramel-grain flavors with subtle hops towards the end. I’m not sure if I’m too into the idea of "extra" pale ales. Keep them bold, keep them hoppy.

On-tap at PP C’Bad. Pours golden yellow with a creamy offwhite head, sticky lace, decent retention. Smells crisp malty and sweet, hints of hops. Taste is crisp malty at first and then sweet malty and then there is a lingering, light, earthy hop flavor. Almost fruity sweet as well. Medium body, ok carbonation. Needs a little dryness in my opinion.

Pours a clear yellow with a white head. Light sourness with a light to moderate bitterness. Light malt aromas. Grassy hops aromas. Medium bodied. Medium to lively carbonation. Bitter finish with slight metallic notes. Everything very much like a boring lager.

12oz bottle pours mildly hazy gold with weak white head. The mild aroma is malty and has faint biscuit malt and little else. The taste is very much the same starting with a sweet maltiness, lightly roasted malts and a note of biscuit. Midway and to the finish the sweet malts are joined by aged blunted citrus hops creating a mild sweet orange juice malt tea flavor.

Pours a hazy orangish yellow with off white head. Aromas of malt and citrus. Slightly sweet flavor that starts malty and finishes a little hoppy. Medium body with average carbonation. Below average APA.

Very pale. Lemon yellow with a foamy head. Smell is floral and a tad nutty, like marzipan or something. Flavor is subtle, and that’s putting it nicely. It’s a bit watery to be honest, and the aftertaste is simply awful. Oily in the finish. Still, I’ve tasted worse.
