Commercial Description:
The original Extra Pale Ale, this is the one that started it all. Our first brew was introduced in 1989 in Golden Gate style kegs. We have stayed true to our beginnings and still brew it the way we did back then. A bright golden hued ale with a medium body and a crisp spicy /floral hop character and very mild bitterness. This unfiltered ale has a pleasing mouth feel and remains our most popular brew. This beer goes with everything and every occasion.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of Degarth. Slightly hazy, deep golden with a nice, off-white head. Somehat fat aroma of hops - citrusy nose. Fairly light in body, lightly sweet malt base with fresh, fruity acents with peach in particular sticking out. Dry finish without much bitterness. Nice and very drinkable. 241007

Pours hazy meium golden color with a light yellowish head. The aroma is citrus with a hint of hops. The flavor is more sweet than hoppy. A little less crisp than I was hoping for.

From bottle into pint glass. Pours a light amber with decent head. Aromas of hops citrus and pine. Tastes is mostly hops with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Relatively high carbo. Pretty decent. Pretty drinkable, but not exceptionable. This used to be my favorite APA, but it does not stack up to SNP.

Pours light gold with a tight, but uneven, off-white head. The aroma is faint and some some smooth toasted malt and light woodiness. Medium slick body with a little bit of prickly carbonation. The flavor begins with stale toasted malt, spicy hops, a hint of caramel malt and some oxidation. The finish has a bit of spicy / woodiness from hops and unfortunately a lingering stale taste. A fair APA. Hopefully this was just a bad bottle and I can put in a rerate in the future.

Had this beer on 10/23/1998. Color is a pale gold with a thick haze, carbonation and head is low. Aroma is a little yeasty, this may be from the yeast that has settled on the bottom of the bottle. Taste light and refreshing. It starts off with light to medium body that goes down smooth with a light bitterness. the finish is clean, a mild hop flavor with light hop bitterness. It’s a little lighter than most Pale Ales but still holds on to a well balanced flavor. Great beer for any time it is refreshing enough for a hot summer day and flavorful enough to enjoy when you feel like a good Pale Ale.

Draft sampled. Pours a pale yellow with a orange haze and a small white head. Aroma of light citrus, floral hops, and some fruit notes. Flavor of sweet malt, and citrus with a light bitter finish.
