Commercial Description:
The original Extra Pale Ale, this is the one that started it all. Our first brew was introduced in 1989 in Golden Gate style kegs. We have stayed true to our beginnings and still brew it the way we did back then. A bright golden hued ale with a medium body and a crisp spicy /floral hop character and very mild bitterness. This unfiltered ale has a pleasing mouth feel and remains our most popular brew. This beer goes with everything and every occasion.

Golden and hazy with a light frothy head. Citrusy aroma with lots of lemon. Slightly sweet upfront with lots of included malts. Decent beer.

Yeasty with a slight hop aroma. Citrus grapefruit rind taste impact. Slight haze in an otherwise ubiquitous pale yellow appearing brew. Decent carbonation. Finish is not quite IPA but it is certainly irritating.

Sampled both bottle and tap. Opaque gold in color, fairly active head that fades quickly. To me, extra pale is generally code for "we’re trying to snare Bud drinkers." This beer went beyond that, however. It might snare a few mass market consumers, but it really stands on its own with a fairly assertive maltiness and a noticeable (though restrained) hop profile. It was a little sweet for my taste, but it’s a drinkable brew.

bottle - Pours hazy yellow with some yeast floaters and a thin white head. It has a very mild aroma. I was mostly getting light malt. The flavor is also light and fairly sweet with some mild hops character. It’s low on the hops for an American pale. Quite drinkable, but unimpressive.

Herbal hoppy aromas, iced tea-like bitterness and grainy astringency. Nice, though.

Pale yellow orange haze with small round-the-rim white head. Nice citrus biscuit nose. Mild quaffable flavor. Finished a little dull, but overall a great session brew.

Pours a golden colour with a medium frothy white head. Some particulates. Aroma of malts, floral hops and slight citrus. Initial taste is light, malts, crisp hops. Finishing wilth a mild bitter hops. Great lacing of the glass and good head retention.
