Commercial Description:
The original Extra Pale Ale, this is the one that started it all. Our first brew was introduced in 1989 in Golden Gate style kegs. We have stayed true to our beginnings and still brew it the way we did back then. A bright golden hued ale with a medium body and a crisp spicy /floral hop character and very mild bitterness. This unfiltered ale has a pleasing mouth feel and remains our most popular brew. This beer goes with everything and every occasion.

Amber beer with a small white head. Aroma of hops. Flavor is a straightforward, middle of the road APA. Easy drinking and pleasant tasting. Good pale malts and crisp citric hop character. Pretty good APA.

Bottle Poures a medium coper with a nice off white head. Lots of malty aroma and little citrusy hops. Flavor is a bit more bitter but still the woody, slightlky sweet malts are forfront. Active carbonation and a mild bitterness with some papery trailer. Not bad.

Bottle: Cloudy pale gold with not much head. Slight hop aroma with a disappointing taste. Kind of watery, but drinkable. Thanks Jordan for letting me pillage your freebies!

Bottle from Total Wine. Poured a nice golden color with a small head. Nice notes of citrus and hops. Tastes good and is rather clean drinking. Two for two from Mad River in my book.

Poured a slightly cloudy light orange color with a thin white head. Very mild hop aroma. Decent hop start, but hop character quickly diminishes through the finish. Overall, a bit bland, but not bad.

As a retirement gift I was given a 6-pack of this beer. It poured a somewhat cloudy amber, had a very pleasing "hoppy" nose with a very slight citrus background. It had a medium-bodied refreshing flavor that was an excellent balance of hops and malt with a light bitterness and citrus palate. What better retirement gift is there than beer?

Aroma is some caramel malt. Very faint citrus. Somewhat sweet bready notes. Golden and unfiltered. Flavor is mostly sweet, caramel malt, the afformentioned breadiness, and I guess a little citrus hops, but I dont get alot of it. More smooth and crisp than hoppy. Medium bodied, somewhat easy to drink.
