Commercial Description:
The original Extra Pale Ale, this is the one that started it all. Our first brew was introduced in 1989 in Golden Gate style kegs. We have stayed true to our beginnings and still brew it the way we did back then. A bright golden hued ale with a medium body and a crisp spicy /floral hop character and very mild bitterness. This unfiltered ale has a pleasing mouth feel and remains our most popular brew. This beer goes with everything and every occasion.

Pours gold with a one-finger white head. Hoppy, fruity, and bready aroma. The hops have a honey-ish feel to them. The flavor is split right down the middle, time-wise, between malt and hop: it begins sweet and bready, and instantly turns earthily, sweetly, and lightly citrusy hoppy. Tonight seems to be my night for good Californian session beers.

Bottled. Pale yellow-orange, some tiny yeast particles floating, small creamy white head. Bready, fruity aroma, not very strong. Quite standard APA - bready malty, a bit fruity. This is quite solid - good for session, but not much else.

Bottled. Pours a slightly hazy golden color. Somewhat spicy/hoppy aroma. Some fruity hoppines right up front. Mildly hoppy brew with a fairly bitter finish.

Bottle. Golden color with weak head. Light aroma with citrus, wheat and honey. Raisiny and citrusy hop aroma with honey and wheat. Sweetish and rounded. Light bitterness and some tartness in the finish.

Really one of my favorite summer beers. Medium golden orange color. Hazy, didn’t know this was un-filtered. Citrusy nose of hops and dry malt. Very medium-light body. As soon as the malt gets sweet it quickly turns to dry fruit and clean hoppy. Very refreshing.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy gold with a quick, but nice head. Scents of bread and citrus on the nose. I thought this had alot of similarities to a Belgian White. It was kind of creamy and crisp, but light on the hops. I liked this one and would make a great session beer especially in the summertime.

Bottle. Simple golden color. Hops and malts in the aroma. Slightly bitter in taste, not much to make this brew stand out, but not a bad choice to kick back and relax with friends with.

12 oz. bottle. I’ve probably had a few hundred of these over the past months at my local watering hole. Not great, but the best american pale ale on site. That’s really not saying much. A good session beer, although I’m surprised to see this one is 5.7%. I guess I’m more of a lush than I thought.
