Commercial Description:
The original Extra Pale Ale, this is the one that started it all. Our first brew was introduced in 1989 in Golden Gate style kegs. We have stayed true to our beginnings and still brew it the way we did back then. A bright golden hued ale with a medium body and a crisp spicy /floral hop character and very mild bitterness. This unfiltered ale has a pleasing mouth feel and remains our most popular brew. This beer goes with everything and every occasion.

Bottle. Simple golden color. Hops and malts in the aroma. Slightly bitter in taste, not much to make this brew stand out, but not a bad choice to kick back and relax with friends with.

12 oz. bottle. I’ve probably had a few hundred of these over the past months at my local watering hole. Not great, but the best american pale ale on site. That’s really not saying much. A good session beer, although I’m surprised to see this one is 5.7%. I guess I’m more of a lush than I thought.

Steelhead XPA has a citrus aroma, & light hazy golden body. Light on bitterness brings the malt out in this beer. I was confused on the style, I thought it had more Blonde/Cream Ale qualities than an APA.

Smells of rot juice. A beer that tastes like crisp pears/few hops/liquid ritz crackers. It bounces off the palate quickly. This would be a good beer to drink in the sun at a festy.

In the bottle in Davis CA. Light orange amber with a yellow-white head. Aroma is medium floral hoppiness. Flavor of hop bitterness is immediately pronounced and fills the palate throught the complete drinking experience with strong citrus overtones. Finish is crisp and quick. Yeasty leftovers to the aftertaste.

out of the bottle. pours golden-orange with a medium white head. some lacing. little aroma. flavors barely there which makes it bland. however, can detect mild hops, caramel, KIX cereal, and lots of banana. bitter finish. s’ok.

Pours a nice orangish/gold color. Aroma is big citrus hops. Flavor of a classic pale, nice hop flavor and finish.

Nice golden color, small white head that faded quickly leaving little behind. The aroma was mildly malty with a decent citrusy/hop side. The flavor was a little on the light side.Lightly malty with a nice but light hop showing some hints of grapefruit and a mild bitterness in the end.Not bad but it could use a little more in the hops department.
