Commercial Description:
The original Extra Pale Ale, this is the one that started it all. Our first brew was introduced in 1989 in Golden Gate style kegs. We have stayed true to our beginnings and still brew it the way we did back then. A bright golden hued ale with a medium body and a crisp spicy /floral hop character and very mild bitterness. This unfiltered ale has a pleasing mouth feel and remains our most popular brew. This beer goes with everything and every occasion.

Draft at Library Alehouse in Santa Monica, CA. Pours a deep yellow/gold with a white head. The aroma has some crystal malts and some spicy, noble hops. The flavor is bready and maltsweet with slight balancing, spicy hop bitterness. The beer has a medium finish and is medium in body. Overall, drinkable blond ale...

Pretty dissapointing. Weak and not very flavorful. Tasted more like an amber than an APA. Caramel malty flavor with weak hops. Lightly watery finish. Not bitter or sweet. Kind of fizzy and peppery.

Bottle. Pours a hazy honey color with one finger off-white head and spotty lacing. Nose is light floral hops, sweet malt and grass. Taste is pretty much the same – sweet malt dominates until finishing with a light hop aftertaste. Medium mouth feel. I guess the “extra” part meant they took extra care in removing the hop profile. Average.

Hazy cloudy amber with a thin white head. Aroma of citrus, bread, caramel and hops. Taste of citrus, bread, caramel with a mild dry bitter finish. Lively carbonation for the style. Not Terribly flavorful.

12oz bottle. Pale yellow with white thick foamy head. Apricot, peach, sweet, with some hops on the nose. Light prickle, mild sweetness, with some light hops on the finish.

Light aroma and appearance. Flavor was not overpowering and finished nice with a slight hop aftertone. Overall, thought it was a decent beer that would be a nice drink on a hot summer day.

Bottle, gold pour with a nice white head. good lacing. Aroma is pretty much a malt, bread and floral hop combo. Flavor is light and refreshing with some light malt and a fair balance of hops. Smooth and easy, just not remarkable.

Pours a pale hazy gold with a one finger frothy white head. The nose was sweet, malty, bready malt, little to no hop character, corny. The flavor was sweet and bready malt, corny, a little grassy. The palate was crisp and had some hop bitterness.
