Commercial Description:
The original Extra Pale Ale, this is the one that started it all. Our first brew was introduced in 1989 in Golden Gate style kegs. We have stayed true to our beginnings and still brew it the way we did back then. A bright golden hued ale with a medium body and a crisp spicy /floral hop character and very mild bitterness. This unfiltered ale has a pleasing mouth feel and remains our most popular brew. This beer goes with everything and every occasion.

Had out of the bottle. Foamy head, fades fast. Weak but pleasant aroma. Taste is good, but did feel a bit watered down. Maybe because I had while eating guacamole, but it seemed very tasty.

Bottle. Pours an orange/gold with a bit of head that leaves quickly. Aromas are very weak and I couldn’t tell you what was there. Flavor is pretty weak, too. Honey flavored malt sweetness with a little bit of a hops citrus, but things are pretty weak. I’m wondering if this bottle had been sitting around for a while, given some of the other reviews.

Bright pale pour with a little hazy & head.. Watery mouth-feel. Light malty and citrus hops flavor. Crisp clean finish.

This beer pours a brightly coloured orange body. With a small white head. Retention is poor but lacing is fairly decent. Not a lot of foam but well carbonated and easy to bubble up temporarly (hope that makes sense). Aroma is typical, honey, hops- not sure what kind, familiar but hard to distinguish and piney. Taste is what i enjoyed the most- flavors are astringent, fruity and tangy like tangerines. great beer, Humboldt county- dank beer, but not that dank.

I think I’m more fond of this than most folks are, as I find it to be a solid middle-of-the-road APA. Its hop characteristics aren’t quite as aggressive as I’d like, either in the nose or in the flavors. But at the same time it’s hard to knock the pleasant, well-balanced malts, not overly sweet either. Crisp and fairly dry finish.

bottle. Pours a hazy pale yellow, minimal white head that clears quick, leaving a bit of a ring. Weak aromas of wet bread and some light floral hops. Flavor improves- light and crisp. Mild bitterness and some light floral and spicy lemon zest hop notes. Smooth and even lightly toasty malt. Crisp, even, and light on the palate with only a little bit of bitterness in the finish. Pretty good for a relatively unadventerous style- fulfills the description, very easy drinking and pretty tasty.

Tasted somewhere along my trip through the States.
Golden colored brew. Grainy, grassy, light fruity. Hoppy, grainy and malty. Drinkable.

From bottle. Pours pastel gold with a bit of tangerine color and a medium fluffy head. Aroma of grass and hops, lightly floral. Flavor is a nice mild mix of hops, grain, and some light malt. I thought the crisp body on this brew was a nice touch. Overall, surprisingly tasty, and goes well with food.
