Commercial Description:
A black opaque ale with rich creamy roasted malt character and a very mild hop complement. This beer may look a little scary but take a sip and you'll see why this Extra Stout can convert even lite beer drinkers to Stout lovers. A unique flavor profile that starts with a slight coffee flavor and finishes with a hint of roasty chocolate. Try a pint with a scoop of French Vanilla ice cream. This beer is a favorite as a compliment to any dessert or as a hearty breakfast drink.

Pours a nearly opaque garnet with a tall, deep mocha head. Aroma of sweet chocolate and roasted malts. Flavor is bittersweet with a touch of sourness; there are some coffee and chocolate notes along with faint hops. Mouthfeel is on the thin side. Finishes sweet but rather bland. Good stout but nothing to be ecstatic about.

Bottle. Aroma has big, big burnt roast notes, slightly ashy, with medium notes of chocolate and a smidgen of lactose. Pitch pour with a dark brown had. Attack is crisp with medium body, dry and refreshing, with a dry, slightly ashy aftertaste. Robust taste has same strong roasted malt and burnt notes, dark chocolate with a slight mocha/milky quality, medium bitterness, and subtle coffee bean acidity. Quite tasty!

Bottle pours an inky-black with small light brown head. Nose is roasted coffee, burnt chocolate. A bit of vanilla comes through in the taste. Decent anytime stout, but nothing to really rave about.

Pours a thick black liquid with a very dark brown head. Aroma is strong and of sweet burnt coffee, the taste is a little weaker version of the same. Lighter than I expected from the pour, rather drinkable. Very good beer.

Bottle. Small fizzy light brown head that mostly diminished, virtually no lacing, mostly opaque, very little carbonation noted, and a black hue. The aroma was malty, chocolate and roasty. Ditto for the flavor with a hint of coffee. Fairly smooth mouthfeel and medium in body. Quaffable, nicely balanced, very tasty, would drink this one again, and worthy of a try IMO.

Black pout, thin brown head. Chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and berry aroma. Sweet and viscous. Acrid burnt flavors with molasses and some tanginess. Low hop flavor and low bitterness. Very rich body. A little sweet for my tastes but not too bad.

Opaque black/brown body with small tan head that disappears quickly. Aroma of rasted malts, chocolate and a hint of molasses. Moderately sweet flavor with a light to moderate bitterness in the finish. Moderately acidic. Medium body, creamy texture. Low carbonation. Good stuff.

Mmm... stout. I’ve been drinking a lot of stouts lately and this one is absolutely exceptional for the price. A six-pack of this costs less that two cans of Ten FIDY. Nose has hints of caramel, a good amount of coffee, and a delicious chocolate milk character. Flavor is roasty with espresso overtones and mild hop bitterness. Get some!
