Commercial Description:
A black opaque ale with rich creamy roasted malt character and a very mild hop complement. This beer may look a little scary but take a sip and you'll see why this Extra Stout can convert even lite beer drinkers to Stout lovers. A unique flavor profile that starts with a slight coffee flavor and finishes with a hint of roasty chocolate. Try a pint with a scoop of French Vanilla ice cream. This beer is a favorite as a compliment to any dessert or as a hearty breakfast drink.

Mmm... stout. I’ve been drinking a lot of stouts lately and this one is absolutely exceptional for the price. A six-pack of this costs less that two cans of Ten FIDY. Nose has hints of caramel, a good amount of coffee, and a delicious chocolate milk character. Flavor is roasty with espresso overtones and mild hop bitterness. Get some!

Bottle from fordest. Pours pitch black with nice tan head. Aroma of chocolate and milk sugar (lactose). Chocolate flavor comes at first with coffee and roastiness notes. This is a well brewed stout. Thanks Sean!

Very dark pour sits opaque in the glass. Ruby tinged cocoa head retains well and leaves some decent lacing. Aroma is milk chocolate and overroasted coffee. Taste has a nice dark roasty bitterness with some hints of chocolate. Hints of anise and pine hops add some interest. A good American stout.

Trade form fordest - Thanks! Black, with a thin ring of brown foam. Vanilla, milk chocolate and coffee aroma flavor has a lot of fruity notes in it, which is kinda surprising. So in addition to the expected stout flavors, there is a nice mix of blackberry and prune and raisin. dry, flinty finish.

12 ounce bottle from The Beer of the Month Club. Pours a completely opaque jet black color with a tiny brown head. The aroma was very nutty with hints of chocolate and coffee. Tasted like dark chocolate with hints of vanilla. It left a somewhat bitter taste in the back of my mouth. It had a fairly heavy mouthfeel. This was a very enjoyable extra stout! I am glad I was able to try it!

Pours black with a brown head about 2 fingers thick. Aroma of burnt malts and chocolate. Smoky burnt malt flavors dominate with a bitter finish. Full bodied with low carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. Decent stout.
