| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 23, 2009 Pure black color. There is no way to get light to penetrate through this. Aroma is of sweeter malts, roasty nuts, and chocolate. It has some coffee undertones. Taste full of sweeter malts, chocolate and a little coffee. Nice and sweet aftertaste. Pretty good brew from the west side. coyotehunter (557), , Michigan, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 20, 2009 Bottle thanks to Scrizzz. Pours a jet black with a big tan head. Aroma is of raisins, prunes and coffee. Some piney hops flit in and out. Taste is a watered down version of the aroma. Palate is a bit too watery, but the further down the glass I get, the better it becomes. Not terrible, but not something Id get a case of. cstuartj (326), Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 18, 2009 A black opaque ale with rich creamy roasted malt character and a very mild hop complement. This beer may look a little scary but take a sip and you’ll see why this Extra Stout can convert even lite beer drinkers to Stout lovers. A unique flavor profile that starts with a slight coffee flavor and finishes with a hint of roasty chocolate. Try a pint with a scoop of French Vanilla ice cream. This beer is a favorite as a compliment to any dessert or as a hearty breakfast drink. AskForJenny (659), Ontario, New York, USA

Mild nose for a stout, expected more layers of roasted aromas. Sweetness on the front, cream then coffee. Well balanced but not powerful. Good not great. milljam (584), Norman, Oklahoma, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 20, 2009 12oz bottle into an English pint. Pours black with a nice light leather-colored head. The aroma is sweet and sour American stout with a touch of warm milk and a sprinkle of coffee and chocolate. The flavor is boldly roasty like chewing on black malt and is mixed with sweetness and a nice milk-chocolate coffee finish as you swallow and exhale. The mouthfeel is creamy but not quite thick with a good amount of carbonation to keep it even. I really liked this stout!
