Oct 12, 2007 Bottle from Belmont Party. Poured dark brown color with an average frothy brown head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Solid roasted coffee and chocolate malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture. Medium roasted chocolate flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good and my expectations where met.

Oct 4, 2007 Pretty decent for a generic Stout. It pours thick and dark brown out of the bottle, then turns black in the glass and is covered by a deep cocoa head. Nice aroma of fresh coffee, chocolate, and barley. The chocolate grows in the flavor as the coffee fades back and a soft bitterness comes in near the finish. Sep 28, 2007 Bottle. Pours black with tan head. Roast malt aroma. Full body, malty with notes of chocolate, toffee, coffee and carame. Lekker malty finish. This goes on my must have again list.

Sep 28, 2007 Bottle.
Pours dark with a nice big dark-tan head. Roasty aroma, some chocolate. This beer has the misfortune to follow a half-bomber of Deschutes Abyss, and it comes off remarkably well, considering. Nice, strong, relatively dry chocolate-driven stout that holds up even after that very intense predecessor.
This one just became available in Washington state, and while I’ll need a couple more to be sure, I suspect this needs to find its way into my fridge on a fairly regular basis.

Sep 19, 2007 Pours black and thick with a mostly receding light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, very sweet and little bitterness. Taste is thick, sweet with crystal malt and roast coffee and chocolate notes. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with lush carbonation.

Sep 10, 2007 This is one of my favorites. Black, you can’t see nothing thru this. Not much carbonation, but a great mild burnt malt bready aroma. Good mouthfeel, you can chew on this one. Chocolate malt taste. Has a dry clean finish .

Sep 7, 2007 Pours a hair below pitch black. Nice darker tan head. Nose is of heavily roasted malts. Flavor is smoked and roasted malts. Very robust and deep and uncompromising. Even though it is nice and hearty, it seems a bit one dimensional. Kind of like it is all muscle and no grace. Feel has a good carbonation to it and the liquid is fairly thick. Overall this is a pretty rich and deep stout. No mass of complexity, but definitely deep enough that you might want to put your floaties on before diving in.

Sep 3, 2007 Poured a black with no head. Has any amazing taste of burnt malts, chocolate, vanilla. Coffee stands out a lot. Finishes with not a lot of carbonation.
