Commercial Description:
A black opaque ale with rich creamy roasted malt character and a very mild hop complement. This beer may look a little scary but take a sip and you'll see why this Extra Stout can convert even lite beer drinkers to Stout lovers. A unique flavor profile that starts with a slight coffee flavor and finishes with a hint of roasty chocolate. Try a pint with a scoop of French Vanilla ice cream. This beer is a favorite as a compliment to any dessert or as a hearty breakfast drink.

12 oz bottle thanks to fordest. Very small tan head. Very dark. Smells of roasted chocolate and coffee. Very little afterburn. But very good.

12 oz. bottle. Very dark black oily appearance. Smallish dark tan head. Lots of roasty aromas. Some chocolate and coffee flavors, but mostly more roasted malts. Pretty good stout.

Bottle. Pitch black color. Coffee, roasted nut aroma; somewhat wooden, fire-worn finish. Hints of fruit in flavor. OK - expecting worse for some reason.

heavy coffee aroma, and coffee flavor. Just a little bit thin for my stout preference. Nice.

The only color that describes this beer is black. Nice dark head as well. Beer was sweet and very chocolaty. Lasting espresso finish. Nice brew!

Poured a deep black oily shade with a partly bubbling beige-gray head. Dense and a little watery though thick as an ’extra" should be. Prevalent and robust earthy and coffee nose with typical chocolate characteristics. Fabulous breakfast beverage meal and likely favorable of chocolate or vanilla pairings.

12oz bottle. Pours pitch black with a small, bubbly brown head. Looks impressive. Smell is VERY sweet with some malty and chocoalte notes too. Looks and smells like an Imperial so far. The taste is nowhere near as strong as the appearance or aroma would lead you to believe. Very mild, a bit watery with a sweet chocolate finish. This is a decent stout but I was let down by the flavor.

An extremely smooth stout. Not overly hopped, but good coffee, chickory, chocolate, roast cashews. Light tartness, muted fruitiness, slight olivine notes. Not very sweet. Choclolate, roast, olive aroma. Absolutely opaque black in a small wine glass. Medium body, maybe tipping over to medium heavy, maybe not. An incredibly good brew, well worth shipping to Florida from Californie. If there were a flaw to point out, it’s that the finish gets a wee bit tart and clingy. Good stuff.
