I remembered this as being a weak imitator of the SN Stout. What I found was a lush black beer, deep tan head, elegant aroma of chocolate and slightly burnt coffee. Flavor was of chocolate liquor and espresso, full bodied and sophisticated. Very nice stout. Bockyhorsey (2561), Mesa, Arizona, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 16, 2005 You could smell chocolate aroma when you get a whiff of this one. Black body with dark tan small head that disipated. Flavor was more of roasted malts and some hops also detected for a good balanced beer. Smooth creamy on the palate with a roasted chocolate aftertaste. Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA

The depth of the caramel and coffee aroma is astounding. There are traces of hops in this nose as well. Wonderful lacing. The taste is bitter coffee chocolate and a small hint of hop pine to end. The bitter after taste is great. The carbonation is a good compliment to the thickness of the mouth feel. This is a very nice stout, why the low ratings? papajohn (1055), San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 1, 2005 Darker than coal with a small creamy, light brown, diminishing head. Aroma is rich chocolate. Flavor starts with coffee and cream followed by a little dark chocolate and finishing with a light dry coffee bitterness. Medium body, creamy texture. Nice dark, syrupy pour. No head retention though. Beautiful soft aroma, chocolate and coffee aroma as well as taste. Careful balance between roasted malts and bittering hops for a nice lasting taste on your palate. Firemoose15 (542), Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA
