Has hints of oxidation. Very open, chocolate malt flavor. Little hop character. This sample likely spent considerable time on the shelf, but aged suprisingly well. Thanks Craig!

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 15, 2005 a very roasted stout. Somewhat like a small imperial. Huge jet black malt body. Almost burnt cocoa and espresso flavors, with some extreme bittersweet chocolate. Overripe berries and toffee come in at the back. Almost bordering on malt astringent, extremely attenuated. Very lingering chalky roasted finish. Sammy (4057), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | Mar 5, 2005 looks like a stout, but it starts with a sourness in the aroma. There is roastness, even a tad burnt, some chocolate, but oh the sourness. Stiff upper lip to finish this one. It was a bit better at room temperature, and I am a lenient rater on stouts, it even refreshed, but the..sourness. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 3, 2005 Black color with a thin head. Bitter coffee aroma. Oddly enough, the taste fits the name: it tastes a little like steel. Not much malt or anything else. turbo (1254), Arizona, USA

Aroma of chocolate and roast.
Roasty, nutty flavor with a liquid smoke palate.

Aroma: Coffee and chocolate, surprisingly strong for a plain looking stout
Flavor/Palate: Big malt, big coffee, big chocolate, with a tiny cherry vanilla hinting in the aftertaste. Very creamy slightly oily texture.
Overall: A very very fine stout in an unassuming looking bottle sold in 6packs for low prices. Consider me impressed. Highly reccomended
