| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 17, 2004 Chocolate, nutty aroma with some underlying roasted malts. Opaque, dark brown with chocolate brown head that recedes to cover. Very sweet chocolatey flavour has a mild roasty character. that lasts especially in the aftertaste. Somewhat light and chalky in the mouth. Bottle sampled with Enkerli and others. chriso (4796), London, Greater London, England
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 15, 2004 Black appearance. Oily consistency. Negligible head and minimal carbonation. Chocolate and licorice in the aroma. Same flavour, with some coffee and roast malt. Quite rich, but not the most full bodied stout. Rather nice though. Bottled at the Green Leafe Cafe, Williamsburg.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 24, 2004 Well the experience was certainly a factor for this one. Being from an area where the idea of variety in the Liquor Store is how many Eastern European beers are able to be stacked up, I was very excited to be making the journey to Premier Gourmet to indulge a little. And to make it all even better they were sampling this as you walk in. Nice nearly black stout with the requisite tan head. Aromas pretty standard - some roasty and some chocolate sweet malts. Flavours the same with just a little bitterness to finish. Not a great smooth bittersweet chocolate though, just a little edge as it left. Not bad, but made better by the moment. mjg74 (1997), La Mesa, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Nov 24, 2004 Pours pretty much pitch black in color. Aroma is sweet and creamy with a roasted scent. Flavor is roasty and has a bit of hop flavor. Not quite as rich as it could be be but still good. badnewsbeers (1026), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA
