Commercial Description:
A black opaque ale with rich creamy roasted malt character and a very mild hop complement. This beer may look a little scary but take a sip and you'll see why this Extra Stout can convert even lite beer drinkers to Stout lovers. A unique flavor profile that starts with a slight coffee flavor and finishes with a hint of roasty chocolate. Try a pint with a scoop of French Vanilla ice cream. This beer is a favorite as a compliment to any dessert or as a hearty breakfast drink.

nice black pour, and a great palate...a roasted chocolate aroma...flavor was a bit of a let down (a decent smoky chocolate flavor, with a not so decent bitter aftertaste)...not a bad beer by any means, but somewhat dissapointing

From a 2002 bottle - I love stouts, and this is a fine example of the breed... it poured with a sweet, malty aroma and a rapidly diminishing small head of tan foam. This brew has an exceptionally smooth mocha-like taste, and a clean "high palate" finish... thank you, sir, may I have another?

Blck body with a thin tan head. Low cabonation, soft on the palate. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malts. Creamy, smokey flavor, nice chocolate aftertaste. No hop aroma or flavor. Full bodied, well rounded.

Bottle. Disappointig head. Off white, dissipates very quickly, resembles coca-cola. Aroma is good, very roasty. Black color. Can taste chocolate and coffee in flavor. Little bitter and dry in finish.

Deep and dark, medium brown head that lasted. Solid roasted malt prescence, a little smoky, slightly sweet, with some hops in the background. Medium to full bodied, slightly dry. A solid stout. Re-rate: Less roast than previously. More of an off sourness that did not carry across well. Rating is an average of both ratings.

Pours black with a medium sized brown head. Mild smokey roasted malt, with coffee and milk chocolate aroma. Dry and salty. Oatmeal. Chewey malts. Molases and burnt sugar. Sour cherries and dried fruit. Long roasted souring finish.

Bottled. Poured a dark black, with a thin yet very dense and creamy head. Aroma teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, mmmmmm barbeque, and rich in burnt dark malts. Flavor very interesting BBQ potato chips, smokiness bittersweet coco, more teriyaki sauce, prunes, plums, and dried dark fruits. Body is very rich thick and creamy. Very rich and filling beer.
