This was really good, I think, by most standards, but unfortunately I drank it at a horrible time, as I was doing some work outside and just grabbed a brew to cool off. Thought it was something else. Too heavy for the occasion, but still good.

12 oz. Chocolate with a small creamy head that lasts. Aroma is earthy cocoa, caramel, and slight coffee. Flavor is cocoa, caramel with slightly tart apple, coffee with cream and dirty sugar, piquant green herb, dried hickory and roasted walnut. Medium body is soft, and nicely balanced between watery and syrupy. Slight dry, faintly smoky finish.

Thanks After4ever/Tom for this one! Black-brown with a light brown, creamy head. The aroma has notes of licorice and roasted malt. The flavour has a light bitterness with notes of licorice, coffee, roasted malt and a light sweetness. It’s quite charming, uncomplicated and straight forward!

12 ounce bottle from a 6 pack purchased at a liquor store near the mall in Woodland, CA. First time I have seen this brew. Not sure how old this stuff is, as they did have a lot of old, winter beers still in the fridge. Aroma is quite sweet with lots of chocolate milky aromas. Some light molasses and light vanilla aromas also make a presence. A light, grainy mustiness also presides here. Mostly transparent dark mahogany colored body with a moderate yellow-tan head consisting of many small bubbles. Adequate lacing. Starts spritzy and metallic before it becomes rich and coffee-like in the middle. Just a hint of sweet chocolate, but tons of roasted and toasted goodness here. Some light peaty scotch notes come in at the end. Has a nice mouthfeel, with the exception of the carbonation, which is overdone. This is not far off from being an outstanding beer.

Bottle... Poured deep brown tone with a frothy light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt and sweet sugars like maple syrup. Very smooth an silky in the mouth, roasted flavors of barley-grains and malt with sweet, smoked chocolates. A mild acidity towards the finish.

Good for a porter. Pours a dark brown to almost black with almost no head. Very malty with nice smokey undertones. A pretty smooth aftertaste for a porter.
