Commercial Description:
Steelhead Scotch Porter is a unique twist on a tradional style. Balanced with dark roasted barley and crystal malts, with the perfect blend of peated malt for a subtle smokey flavor.

Pours a dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma is of roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, molasses, some smokiness, and dark fruits. Decently thick on the palate for a porter. Flavor is of chocolate and molasses strong up front giving way to a subtle coffee and dark fruit flavor. Dry and slightly bitter on the finish. An overall decent porter.

Very pleasantly surprised by this, and I feel like I want a case. A deep inky pour with a very modest head. The initial flavor is roasty with a bit of a dry finish. But as this warms, it gets very rich and chocolatey, with warming malts and a very smooth mouthfeel. It could be a bit thicker, but this is really quite good.

Pours dep black with a tint of red. Strong roasted malt on the nose with slight chocolate. Roasted malt is overpowering on the palate with hints of chocolate and molases. Finish is very roasty. A little thicker mouthfeel than expected for a porter. Strong roast finish. I would have liked this moe if the roast flavor was not so strong.

Average porter. Dont like the crystal malts in this gives it an off taste. A thin body not much chocolate in anything. The sweetness is present and overpowering which kind of makes one think why make this into a porter? It is a dark beer so it will be rated better? Did not work for me.

Bottle. Aroma is rich and malty with rich cocoa and coffee. Pours with a small but sturdy head. Caramel and burnt mollasses are teh first things you notice with some chocolate and smoke. This really is a well done beer. All the flavors I love arein here. The palate is smooth and the finish is crisp.

Clear dark brown body with a small creamy light brown head. Sweet molassas and caramel aroma with some chocolate hints. Sweet creamy caramel and molassas flavor with some light chocolate, roasted malt and a touch of coffee.
