Chocolate/coffee flavor but there is a lingering burnt coffee after taste. A very good porter. raymow (738), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA

I prefer it to an extremely smoky tasting porter and it also has a very nice dark color. Slightly sweet flavor and aroma - recommended for the style - not bad. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 19, 2005 Nice reddish/brown color, small tan head that faded slowly leaving a slight lace behind,The aroma was mildly roasty with a mild coffee vanilla thing going on.The flavor was actaully not that bad. It’s not exactly great but it was fairly pleasant, easy drinking for sure.malty flavor with a nice faint coffee tone some caramel and a bit of hops in the end.Theres also a slight smokey hint in there as well but it’s light and fleeting at best.Over all not bad and worth trying again IMO. jmuhops (663), Winchester, Virginia, USA

I didn’t think it worked that well, the whiskey flavors didn’t blend in well with the porter, which was too waterey ti begin with. I drank this quickly so i could move on Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 23, 2005 Pours with a nice lasting head. Dark brown body. Aroma is chocolate, molassis, scotchy. Biting roasted taste, fades to a scotchy, alcoholic, and hoppy finish. Real good dose of bittering hops, I like it. Touches of vanilla. Creamy/buttery mouthfeel. Well done beer. lamas (728), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 19, 2005 Bottle. A near-opaque black pour with ruby highlights and a two-finger thick light-brown head. Dark, toasty malts in the aroma with lots of caramel and hints of dark chocolate, coffee and vanilla beans. Solidly medium-bodied and smooth. Caramel and toffee are present initially and all the way through. This transitions to a slightly roasty and toasty, bitter finish. A solid porter. Dark, ruby red pour fading to black. Thick rich mocha colored head with thick lacing. Delicious aroma of chocolate and coffee. Flavor reminds me of a fresh chocolate fudge cake with some bittersweet chocolate on the back end. Very thick and rich creamy mouthfeel. Excellent porter.
