On tap at PP Carlsbad a few weeks back. Color was a dark orange with a foamy head. Aroma was quite bland; bread, honey, yeast and fruit. Flavor was a bit dull; yeasty and dry. Not much going on here.

Tap @ Johnny Brown’s. Pours a deep hazy golden orange with a two finger thick off white ring that left some spotty lacing. Nose is quite fruity with a burst of Belgian yeast. Flavor is also yeast dominante with a nice fruity balance.

An okay but fairly humdrum Belgian-style ale. The beer pours a medium amber with a small white head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, apricots and malt. There is a promise of good underlying spice and other complexity that does not find satisfaction in the flavor. The flavor is a relatively clean, sweet and simple Belgian. The fruit is more restrained in the flavor and the spice is bland. The aftertaste is mildly unpleasant with a touch of stickiness and minerals. That said, it’s not an objectionable beer. It just pales in comparison to better beers in the style.

Poured out a dark yellow with a foamy white head. Aroma of yeast, pepper, light citrus hops. Flavor is pepper, yeast, some caramel malt. Pretty solid brew all around from a pretty underrated brewery.

Bottle from Kingdom Liquors. Poured a clear copper color with an average frothy white head that mostly diminished with fair lacing. Moderate tart citrus and yeast aroma. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. This beer met my expectations.

Bottle... Poured a golden/amberish with a thick, off white head. Aroma of hops and spiced yeast notes. Thick, well carbonated palate. Flavors of toasted bread-like notes, estery sweet tones, earthy hops, honey and a soft, easy going, dry finish with a wheat malt flavor to it.

Aromas of honey, bread, grain, earth, and a subtle yeast character. Pours golden amber with some haze, not much in the way of head. Bread, honey, light fruity notes, and some yeasty esters are followed by a soft earthy bitterness in the finish. Easy to drink, subtle and not over done in the sweetness department.

Poured hazy golden amber, peach, citrus caramel, citrus rine, little spice, slight hop finish.
