| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 13, 2009 I can se how this beer languishes in the 36th percentil at 2.92 as it does look like, at least at first glance, to be a souped up lager with a big dose of malt and alcohol. But, the sweet malt action is very well crafted and the slippery palate structure, not doubt helped in part through the alchol, is really quite attractive. The flavours almost stray in Belgian Ale territory with pongy candied malts. Nice. chicagodri (1071), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 1, 2009 Bottle. The bottle I tried was labelled ’Magalotti 1845 Bock’. Poured clear golden with a quickly diminishing, little white head. Smelled like cooking lager with metallic and soapy overtones. Flavour fairly bland as well with grains and a bit of sweetness. Alcohol well hidden though. A bit of a letdown really. LordCorkscrew (984), Ronco Scrivia (GE), Italy
