Bottle, 4.9%. Grainy aroma. Dark golden colour, small stable white head. Sparkling. The flavour is quite bitter, rough, astringent bitterness. There is some malt in there, but I do not get it until the aftertaste.

Jul 31, 2008 (bottle, purchased at the brewery) Clear, golden colour with a mid-sized foamy white head. Light-sweet malty and distinctively citrus fruity aroma. Light-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Malt-accented and slightly fruity (citrus) taste with light herbal accents; bitter-sweet finish with a tinge of metal (28.07.08).

May 18, 2008 Draught (@ Mager, Pottenstein): Golden, mid-sized loose white head, stable; distinctive pale-malty nose with herbal-hoppy spots; moderate to solid bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied; moderate to stronger pale-malty, worty finish with a distinctive hoppy tail. Apr 11, 2008 Draught @ Brauerei Mager, Pottenstein, Oberfranken/Bayern, Germany. Clear light yellow amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted. Flavor is light to moderate sweet and moderate to light heavy bitter with a average to long duration. Body is light to medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light metalic. (210308)

Oct 6, 2007 on tap at the brewery in pottenstein. clear golden with a light white head. some lemon rind and white grape aroma, light metallic bitter finish. not bad for a helles but nothing compared to the amazing mager dunkel
