Commercial Description:
A Beer Cloaked in Secrecy An ale whose mysterious and unusual palate will swirl across your tongue and ask more questions than it answers. A beer brewed clandestinely and given a name whose meaning is never revealed. Why #9? Why, indeed. A sort of dry, crisp, fruity, refreshing, not-quite pale ale. #9 is really impossible to describe because there’s never been anything else quite like it. Fermented with our 150 year old strain of top-fermenting English yeast.

Pours slightly hazy gold with a thin white head. Aroma is apricots and a mild whif of wheat. Flavor is Apricot, mild spices (clove, black pepper), a chewy section with a slight metallic off-note, and a grassy, dry finish. Very refreshing, though not overly complex or memorable.

Orange with a white head which lasted for a few minutes. The smell of apricots and peaches was very apparent and tasting it gave the same flavors. I don’t mind an occasional fruit beer, so I enjoyed this one, as it was a surprise when I opened it.

Old-gold colored, slightly cloudy pour; small but persistent head. Definite tree fruit aroma (apricot and peach). Fruit nose consistent from sip to swallow. Fresh yeast complimented by fruit and malt; hops takes a back seat in this brew. Taste is not overly sweet, and while some disdain a fruit beer--seemingly on general principles--I’ve never seen anyone refuse a #9.

Fruit beer.... not my likin’. When I saw it at the bottle shop and I noticed "not quite pale ale" I went for it. Damn. Gotta fruit beer. Not so great but not all bad just not what I was expecting. Taste is of bannana and citrus. Smell..... don’t smell it. Looks, taste ok, smells not so good. good luck.

Pours out a clear light golden color with ripe fruity aromas. Taste is of light citrus hops, peach and some light malt. Taste is much the same with the peach flavor being more upfront but not obnoxiously over the top. Well balanced and enjoyable.

12oz bottle poured into an English pint glass. #9 pours pale yellow with a smallish head, much like a lager. The aroma is refreshing with peaches being the predominate odor. The taste is very much along the lines of peach but subtle hints of pineapple are present as well. The hops add a touch of bitterness that saves this from being overly sweet. All in all it is a nice beer with a clean finish.

Tasted at Beer Dabbler in St. Paul. One of those beers I enjoy more than I should. Just has a great flavor. Sweet currants, toasted grains, nice bitter at the end. Good texture and carbonation.

12 oz bottle: Aroma is slightly sour, peaches, a light grass hop aroma, and a bit of bubble gum. Appearance is a clear golden with a thick white head that lingers. Taste is peach, bitter, and really fleeting taste overall that finishes into a really clean nothingness. Overall, The taset is good at first but doesn’t sick around for quite a while. Cheers!
