2beerguys (299), North Shore, Massachusetts, USA Jun 21, 2006 Fat Angel is a very good tap beer, so we were curious to see how it would hold up in the bottle. Result? Yea, we like it from the tap. Aromas are of grain malts and orange and lemony hops, with a moderate yeast scent. It pours an amber color with a murky appearance, with a small, fizzy dark brown head. Initial flavor is lightly sweet, finishing moderately acidic and bitter. Light to medium on the mouth, it is both dry and oily, although the dry doesn’t hit until after a little while. Fizzy carbonation and light alcoholic tinge. A malty beer. Diogène (543), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jun 11, 2006 Bottle. Pale golden colour with a thin white head that disapear quickly. Aroma is hoppy with hints of caramel and citrus. Taste is caramel, citrus, raw malt, earthy flavors. Some bitterness in aftertaste. Average pale ale. oldrtybastrd (1801), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA Jun 8, 2006 Pours a clear amber color. Aromas of citrus, malts, and a touch of burnt caramel. Flavor is crisp hoppy with a nice dry finish. Just an average English Pale Ale eaglefan538 (2355), Wilmington, Delaware, USA May 31, 2006 Sampled at the brewery. Flat out average beer, although I liked more than most pale ales. Not overly hoppy, even though it is dry hopped. Nice copper color and no one "flavor" jumped out (slight citrus flavor comes though). GRM (1237), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada May 20, 2006 Brown bottle, 3/4 of a pint, thanks to Ian; eye: amber with golden-yellowish reflections, nice off-white head that disappears rather quickly, no effervescence; nose: hops, a hint of caramel, some spices, humid earth; mouth: bitterness followed by malt rapidly wrapped by caramel, reapperance of bitterness with a hint of it, sweet finale of caramel, lightly sweet, midly bitter, a bit of tartness that appears and starts to dominate the beer as it warms up, light to medium body, rather thin texture, nice carbonation; overall : ordinary
New York, USA May 9, 2006 12 oz bottle. Cloudy golden beer. Very sweet and wheaty aroma. Some spiciness and a bit leathery as well. Flavour is watery and thin. Light diacetyl. Some light fruit toward the finish. I’ll have to try this again as I’m not sure about this bottle. Eructoblaster (1477), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada May 7, 2006 Bottle. Hazy amber body with thin off-white bubbly/creamy head. Fresh hoppy aroma with some pineapple and grapefruit notes. Taste is sharp and well balanced, but it lacks complexity. It leaves a good bitter aftertaste. Good average Pale Ale. iratherbe (255), Marlton, New Jersey, USA Apr 29, 2006 The name and bottle are more fun than the beer. Decent pale ale, nice brown orange color, initial mouthfeel has you wanting more than it delivers. I’ve come to expect better from this brwer. Though I wonder recently are they going downhill some as of late?
