Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a copper color with a large yellow-tan head. The aroma is sour malts. The flavor is light sour malts with a vague floral hop undertone. There is a light nutty element. The finish is vaguely hoppy. Angeloregon (2025), Portland, Oregon, USA

Hoppy and biscuity nose with a unique herbal flavor. Otherwise an almost typical New England pale ale. dirtymike (2018), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Apr 4, 2006 Pours a cloudy burnt orange color w/ a tall small bubbled white head. Aroma nearly non existant, some really light plant aroma, and something else that isn’t really there. Palate is fizzy and light. Flavor is very dry on the tongue very plain nothing that stands out.. boring. hophead75 (1961), Boonton, New Jersey, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 8, 2006 bottle. Light amber with a small compact off white head. Aroma is hoppy, floral. Taste is bitter up front, with some malt character in the back. Thin on the body as I’ve noticed with just about all the magic hat beers so far. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Oct 10, 2005 bottle-thanks for hopdog for this one. pours dark orange with a small soapy white head. sweet fruity aroma of strawberries, raspberries , light grain husks and rose pedals. sweet fruity grainy flavors with a real husky grain malt finish. what is with magic hat and their astringent grain husk flavors? Every beer from them has this problem it seems. Very faint hops on the finish. Thin body and flimsy feel. the finish is just awful and grainy. This brewery doesnt do a thing for me. | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Dec 28, 2005 Hazy yellow orange with an aroma of wet cardboard that bespoke oxidation damage. Soapy hop flavor--not sure if due to perhaps oxidation, imbalanced mineral content, etc. Much prefer APA’s. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 24, 2003 Very, very restrained, too much so for my tastes. Slight caramel malts with some sweetness, some hops. Bit of nuttiness in the initial flavor, but dryness doesn't leave much in the finish.
