The aroma is weak, peach and stone fruits with floral hops. The palate is thin, crisp and refreshing with just the right amount of CO2. The flavor is much better than expected. Fruity (peach/apricot), hops with a bit of not so malty sweetness. Simple and clean with a nice hoppy bitterness left lingering. Despite the nose, an alright beer. erway (1002), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 25, 2005 I must admit that this bottle is old (maybe 7 months) and has been driven across country...through the south...in August. So my hopes were not high.
Pours deep cloudy orange with a tight off-white head. The aroma is heavily esters from the English ale yeast (me thinks Ringwood? Did I hear that somewhere?) with a certain juiciness of fruit aromas, some peach and pineapple, and a large dosing a chewy malt. Diacetyl is in there, just not as noticeable as in some of there beers. Body is med-light. Apricot juicy flavors with a nice complex hop character. Lots of fruity hops. The finish is pleasantly drying and the beer is fairly clean. Not a ton of diacetyl, which I have detected in spades in some of their other beers. Nice English Pale. | 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 7/20 | Jan 18, 2006 Clear orange body with brown hues, head is very thin and of plain white bubbles. Looks a bit like very thin apple cider. Smells very citrusy, and also of skunked malts. Taste is very watery, just a tad of citrus hop bite. This is a disastrous "harmony". I’ve still yet to be impressed by this brewery. Stay away from this one. blank (998), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 7, 2005 Winter pack. A nice golden ale. Rather hoppy with just enough malt to keep if from becoming overpowering. The dry hopping was very evident, or maybe I’m getting better. jimbowood (964), Athens, Georgia, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 13, 2006 Bottle. Pours golden brown with a small white head. Taste of metallic and styrofoam. Not good. Only drank half. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 14, 2007 Pours a cloudy dark amber with minimal head. Nose is hoppy with a smokey edge to it. Fruit tones are there as well. Flavor is leafy with an almost twig like taste to it. Twig like? Yes. It tastes like tree bark. Hop influence is there, but seems to be almost watered down in a way. Something just doesn’t seem mixed right. Feel is tingly with bubbles. But the drinkability will stay low as I just don’t really dig it too much as it seems to lack balance or a cohesive recipe. Plus it has that metallic flavor which I just don’t like.

Not a bad beer but... I mean it’s pretty much the same as the other stuff. I’d like to see something really unique from Magic Hat... in their regular rotation. Seems like everything that isn’t boring is seasonal.
