Tastes both sour and sweet. Not much hops present. Probably the most sour English Pale Ale. Not sure what to think of this one. It’s okay, but their #9 is better. vwsteggie (684), Paxton, Massachusetts, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 21, 2003 Has a lightly clouded amber color and a slightly hop/fruit smell. Taste is a good hop/malt balance and finishes with a light hop bitterness. Overall not a bad beer that is easy to drink. AustinMilbarge (681), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 4, 2003 White creamy head. Quickly, mostly diminishing. Fair amount of carbonation. Cloudy amber color. Hoppy aroma, hazy, Cascade, I'm guessing. Hops are evident in the flavor, but there is somewhat odd aftertaste behind the hops. Metallic, almost. Overall, not a bad pale ale. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 18, 2006 Another enjoyable beer from Magic Hat. Poured a amber-orange with a medium off-white head. Light pine and citrus aromas. Balanced flavor with a smooth finish. Almost as good as the other MH pale ales. KUEric (632), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 23, 2006 Bottle: Pours a dark gold, more orange color with a nice sudsy just barely not-white head mjames before has a goodcolor title:toast tan. Aroma isn’t impressive at all. Smells of wheat, citrusy-orange hops, and maybe a little too much dry old socks. Normally I talk about flavor next, but the palate makes itself know early and often. A very biting carbonated adult beverage. The flavors aren’t anything to write home about either. Citrsy-orange flavors first and definitely foremost. Other flavors include grassy and then there is teeny-tiny fait sweet finish almost out of nowhere. DrGonzo (625), Somerville, Massachusetts, USA

Malty with fruity notes, moderate hopping, and a very well done balance. I'm definitely a fan. Not over the top. Just right....
....Old....Kinda average all around. Pretty much every american pale ale tastes like this, or very similar. Still good, but lost in the crowd. One of their worst labels, as well.
