Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow & tupalev. Pours a clear amber with a spare white fizzy head. Aroma of light hops, yeast, grain and sweet malt. Flavour of citrus, hops, fruit and sweet malt. Decent.

12-oz bottle from SS ’07. Pours hazy orange with a small, rocky, off-white head, somewhat lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is average malt (grain, meal), average hops (grass), average yeast (dough) with notes of paper and apple. Light bodied, slick texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish, kind of wet and spicy palate. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness; husky grain and tea flavor with raw hop leaf at the end.

Sampled @ brewery. Light gold color with a light crispy start. Medium foamy head with light malt taste. Light caramel finish. Not their best work.

Pours a medium clear amber with a small head that disappears quickly. Picked up a little roastiness in the aroma as well as a sweetness I could not quite pinpoint (maybe a bit of toffee). A light hop taste at the front of the flavor with some malts at the end. I enjoyed this one, sort of along the lines of #9 without the apricot. A solid easy drinking beer.

Bottle. Amber bodied with a small tanned head. The aroma on this one is laden with fruit (pears and melon) and is lightly hopped. Taste is grainy with light spices, hops, and lots of fruit flavors. Body is medium with a moderate feel to it and mild carbonation. Finishes with lots of grains, bread notes, fruit and light hops. OK, I guess.

St. Andrews Restaurant, NYC - 12 oz bottle. Medium copper appearance, soft white head. Aroma not very apparent, some fresh lake water is about all I pick up. Not overly flavorful but a good companion to a meal. Solid, subtle bitter flavor with some brief nuttiness and a hint of citrus balances this one out. Overall decent.

In the bottle at the Brickskeller. Pours a hazy butterscotch rich golden yellow. Fluffy white head with the hills-and-valley phenotype. Hoppy aroma. Nice lacing. The body is disappointingly thin. A bit metallic in taste. Almost tastes like blood. Slight musty aroma. Mildly bitter, but fairly disappointing.

Copper color with a thick white head. Strong aroma of malt, with light hops. Powerfull flavor of malt, bitter finish. Light to medium body, oily texture, medium carbonation. It’s a nice pale ale that is more on the malt side and it’s ok with me, vive la différence !
