Commercial Description:
Fat Angel brings divergent tastes together to create a satisfyingly smooth harmony. Dry hopped for eminent drinkability, This beer offers a complex palate that balances the rich pleasures of malt with the crisp, refreshing flavor of hops. Fat angel is the ale of universal reconciliation, brewed in an ambiguous world for those seeking answers in the age of confusion.

Magic Hat’s an odd brewery. They don’t like to reveal on their label what style of beer you’re drinking, which annoys me. This sure smells like a pale ale and tastes a bit like one, too. However, it’s fairly mild and approachable by a pale ale novice.

Nice light amber/bronze color with small head. Some hop aroma, but a good hop bitterness in the aftertaste. Nice malt flavors also. Slightly above average for an english style pale ale.

After just drinking Shipyard’s Old Thumper, this tasted like a poor man’s version of it. Almost the exact same beer, but with a little more carbonation in the finish. Overall good brew.

My 2nd "Fat" beer of the night - would’ve made an interesting black&tan with the Fat Dog Stout - I’d call it "Fat-Fat". Shiny copper orange, smallish head, but good lacing. Citrus floral hop aroma - enticing. Body is medium and smooth. Some sweet malts embraced by citrus orange peel and summer fruits. Increasingly reminds me of orange juice as I drain the glass. Another bottle from Trenton, NJ.

Golden copper, thin white head. Earthy hops, with notes of smoke, and cocoa in the aroma. Rich Mouth feel. Smoky, clean malty flavor, then an earthy, resiny finish.

THIS PALE LACKS FLAVOR,BUT IS CREAMY AND MALTY. SOMEWHAT THICK, NEVERTHELESS, NOT VERY INTERESTING.

Light copper color, small head that disappears quickly. Light malty flavor with fruity citrus notes.

Another one of their standard pale ales. Not a bad beer, but very similar to their others. This seems to be a starting point for their other beers. Decent in many ways, but not something for everyday. It is, however, ubiquitous and a good starter beer for the unadventurous.
