Not bad from Magic Hat, better than non-descript, but not MUCH better. BrewEd (182), Wilmington, North Carolina, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 28, 2003 (Bottle) Minimal hops and suppresed malts make for a beer that is not exceptional in any way. Mouthfeel is thin and slightly watery. While this is very drinkable and unobjectionable, I think I liked the label best of all. I'd like to try it on tap. jasonp (1510), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 31, 2005 Clear amber with a medium off-white head. Caramel and floral hops in the nose. Flavor has notes of caramel, toffee and toasted malt with some light hop bitterness in the finish. Moderately sweet. Medium/light body with a smooth texture and moderate carbonation. Decent head retention. Solid, but nothing to seek out. lamas (716), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA

A clear caramel/amber pour with a thin light-tan head. Sweet caramel and malts in the subtle aroma. A little bit of sweet caramel flavors in the body, but it’s predominantly just VERY grainy and bitter and one-dimensional. A dry, bitter finish. Some sour tastes in there too. Light body. This is just a dull, boring beer. redlight (1475), Winter Park, Florida, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 21, 2006 Fat Angel is a very good tap beer, so we were curious to see how it would hold up in the bottle. Result? Yea, we like it from the tap. Aromas are of grain malts and orange and lemony hops, with a moderate yeast scent. It pours an amber color with a murky appearance, with a small, fizzy dark brown head. Initial flavor is lightly sweet, finishing moderately acidic and bitter. Light to medium on the mouth, it is both dry and oily, although the dry doesn’t hit until after a little while. Fizzy carbonation and light alcoholic tinge. A malty beer. sirsirus (60), Boston, Massachusetts, USA

It was a fairly standard Pale Ale. Not too hearty or offensive.
