Tasted at the Sexual Chocolate release party thanks to the Magic Hat chicks....who brought a few bottles. Aroma of raspberry, light milk chocolate. Taste mostly the same, pretty carbonated, raspberry aftertaste almost seems artificial. Good but not great.

From a bottle shared by SeaOf Lament. (Thanks Carlos!) This one was quite interesting. Wonderful nose of milk chocolate and raspberries. Beautiful deep brown pour with a tan oatmeal head. The flavor was decent, with a MUCH more subtle experience than the nose. What really brought this down for me was the mouthfeel. Really watery and runny. You expect to drink liquid chocolate and instead get a thin, light body. Might be awesome over ice cream????

Very nice looking bottle. Cork was very hard to remove from the bottle. Smell is faint raspberry, and a little black patent malt. Taste is mostly raspberry. However, this is a fizzy, highly carbonated, raspberry stout. Very thin and watery on the mouthfeel. I love raspberries, but the underlying stout here needs a lot of help.

Bottle shared by someone at the footsex gathering. There were two of these babies sitting in the cooler and I was intrigued and excited when I finally noticed one open on the table. This beer has some nice stout characteristics in body and flavor with the added bonus of the raspberries, one of my favorite fruits. Tasted kinda like a chocolate raspberry mousse. This is by far the best thing I’ve ever had from Magic Hat. Very tasty.

2003 Bottle shared by Volgon, thanks alot. Pours black with a tan head, medium carbonation. Aroma is chocolate, sweet malts, and rasberries. Taste is chocolate and lightly bitter roasted malts, with a nice amount of rasberry in the finish with some lingering tart tannins. The rasberry character was nice and natural opposed to those nasty extracts. the best Magic Hat I’ve had so far.
