Amber orange ale with a pretty off white cap that stays and laces.
Medium bodied spicey-malty character.
Big chew on a massive malr blend in the front hop balance follows with citrus, and spicy resinous tones...bittering is complimentary, not piercing. Great IPA!
Everyone makes a big IPA these days few are really unique,,,,but this oneis because it frames it’s great roasty-toffee malt mix with late-boil hopping giving the hop balance big flavor and tame bittering..

Nice IPA, because I generally like them, but not as good as most. I guess it just has a bit too much malt, and a bit too much earth for me. Somehow just doesn’t seem like its in the same category. I need to try this again sometime and try to place it as a stand alone. RR (26), Kentucky, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Oct 10, 2009 This was a very average offering from MHBC. This is an amber colored, sweet smelling IPA. The flavor was lackluster to say the least. Almost Salty, had a certain bitter quality. Mine came from a 12oz bottle, but that didn’t stop the metallic flavor from coming through. checkmatei1 (630), Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 29, 2009 Hazy goldenrod with a short lasting beige topper that leaves some lace in its wake. Aroma of floral and citrus hops, some caramel. Taste of floral and citrus hops, caramel malt and light orange peel. Finishes up with moderate bitterness and vegetation, not a great finish to say the least. beerchugger (307), Colorado, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 8, 2009 Pours a nice yellow orangish color with an finger thick white head that diminishes rather quickly. The aroma is fairly nice and clean. Smells of strong citrus coupled with some floral notes. Some deep caramel malts are also noticeable as well. Very bitter hoppy aroma, not sure if bitter is an actual aroma, but the aroma I’m getting definitely makes me think of bitterness! Now there’s really not that much going as far as taste goes. A hint of caramel malts is noticeable but the taste is very fleeting. It’s almost gone before I can even cipher what I’m tasting. It almost starts out bitter but the flavor dies out before anything can really happen leaving this one almost watery. Finish is very minimal, slightly bitter. I’ve had APA’s with a stronger hop character than this. They must use mostly aroma hops and not much bittering hops. Hmmm...disappointing. DrnkMcDermott (1862), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 23, 2009 12 oz. bottle, best by May ’09. Poured in a G.I. IPA tulip. Pours about the same brown color as the bottle. A bit of hop leaf or two at the bottom, and a rocky head with some lace atop. Smell is of earthy English hops, rather restrained at this moment. Taste is a different matter. Slightly thick malt sweetness coats my lip. Dry hopped bitterness up front, still a nice peppery European/English hop blend instead of piney northwest hops. I know this is off the style for some, but this seems to be a great new interpretation.
