Oakes (7047), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jul 2, 2008 Golden-bronze. Spicy hops with a hint of florals and bready malts. On the palate, these malts provide firm backing and have a noticeable toastiness. The hops are more subdued, with a moderate bitterness. The character is spicy, with light wood and orange peel. The finish is balanced and off-dry. Burps with a spicy hop character. argo0 (6332), Washington DC, USA Jul 21, 2003 Clear golden with white head. Aroma is medium grapefruit and light peach. Taste is peach and grapefruit. Medium/light body. kp (6300), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Name: H.I.P.A.
fiulijn (6110), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Jan 11, 2007 Golden color. Both aroma and taste have a nice hopping, with some resins, but the malt is very low. Enjoyable, easy to drink. Rastacouere (5421), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 20, 2003 Hippie Alert label!Appearance is a pretty appealing cloudy amber with a decent white head at first that diminishes very fast to become a ring around the glass. Aroma is strange, weird hopping. I don't know if that's typical to Columbus character, but there was a "litter" feel in the nose, increasing as it warms. It was not totally unpleasant, just unexpected. The mouthfeel is creamy, a medium body that slips through the mouth naturally. The hop attack is honest, floral, but it didn't propose enough malt balance to top its class. An okay session beer that seems to be made without any special efforts.
