12 ounce bottle from City Market in Burlington, VT (February 2008), served at cellar temperature in a Hair of the Dog glass. Clear bronze in color with a largish frothy off-white head that decays slowly and leaves thick lacing....pungent, spicy hops offer hints of wet cedar/pine resin, a bit of citrus, white pepper....the follow-through on the taste buds is solid, with light fruitiness offering just enough sweetness to counterbalance powerful dry woody bitterness up until the finish, which is quite sharp....could be a bit fuller overall, and the carbonation is a bit weak and diffuse; but IPAs and pale ales are something Magic Hat seems to be able to do pretty well, and this is no exception. A reasonable replacement for Fat Angel, I suppose.

Jul 3, 2008 Pours an orange copper with a thick off white head. Very nice floral slightly citrus aroma with a hint of earthyness. Solid IPA taste; chewy hops with a slight citrus tang and a nice malt body. Not a very bitter brew, which is a bit surprising considering the amount of hops in this. Tasty IPA.

Jun 29, 2008 Bottle. Pours clear orange, big off white head. Aroma is hoppy: kiwi, tangerine, lots of leafy bitterness. Flavor is hoppy, but lacks a good floral or citrus element. The body is a tad thin and the aftertaste is malty and slightly plastic. There is a nice lingering bitterness though. Not bad, but not strong.

Jun 26, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark amber with a fluffy beigh head. Aroma of earthy and piney hops, citrus, floral and subtle caramel notes. Flavor is caramel malts, citrus and piney hops, grains and a touch of fruit. Light to medium body with a bitter finish.

Jun 18, 2008 Poured an auburn color with a crisp, hoppy aroma. Flavor was hoppy but not too bitter. Surprisingly good and smooth. Nice.

Jun 13, 2008 Bottle. Pretty bad if this is an IPA. HiPA is much better. Golden color pour with little hop fanfare. Pretty pedestrian. malts more prevelant than the hops here. One was enough
