Its a nice looking beer to behold with its thick off white rocky head, and tightly carbonated body, but there are a lot of things that are just not doing it for me. One: the aroma is that of an old dusty cellar with a hint of grassiness. Two: its is extremely thin bodied. Three: and most importantly, I don’t dig the sour thing. This is all sour and no malty sweetness to back it up. Its like a light (brown?) ale lacking in all the things that make a brown ale decent. I would not have this again.

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 24, 2009 Serving: 12 oz. bottle. Pours brown with a decent off-white head. Faint nose with slight sour notes. The taste just strikes me as odd. Light on the tongue with strange sour notes. Finishes relatively clean though. In terms of sours, this isn’t a good one.

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Dec 24, 2009 Bottled. Poured medium brown with a creamy, well-retained off-white head. The aroma picked up toasted, bready malts topped by some vegetal notes.. maybe a little garbage on the back.. not enticing at all. The flavor found caramel, chocolate, and biscuit sweetness at the core.. vanilla and oaky sourness around.. mild medicinal/vinegary sourness on the finish.. not very good. Lighter-bodied and sweeter than it was sour on the palate.. not a whole lot of good in here. dogfish120love (279), west hartford, Connecticut, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 23, 2009 Pours a murky dark brown with a thin lacing. A faint sour aroma with candied sugar, with notes of what I consider to be blackberry.Palate is rather thin. TheOrange (414), Kent, Ohio, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Dec 23, 2009 The pour is deep brown, with a small ring of whitish bubbles on top. The aroma hoppy and sweet. The flavor is sour, then some malt. The body is light. The beer is highly carbonated. This is not a beer I look forward to having again, but I’m not big fan of sour ales.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 22, 2009 A hazy brown pour with a minimal off-white head. The aroma fruity with apple being dominant and some woody notes. The taste is mostly sour apple and bit flat. Not quite my style. scraff (1955), Baltimore, Maryland, USA

Light sour citrus aromas with a hint of molasses and grape-like tones. Faint lemon and sour grape seltzer notes from beginning to end. Thin, watery, and absolutely forgettable. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 19, 2009 Pours a dark amber with a thick off white head. Aroma is hoppy with a sour smell. Nowhere on this bottle does it say that this is a sour ale. The taste has hints of hops and a strong taste of sour apples. It’s quite a suprise when you first taste this but once you realize that it’s supposed to taste like that it’s pretty good. This one grows on you. thornecb (1805), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 18, 2009 Pours deep amber into a tumbler. Off-white head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Sour chocolate and oak aromas. Tart with upfront chocolate covered sour cherry turning to a lasting sour oak and vanilla puckery finish.
