Commercial Description:
Soothing brown in color, the American Sour Ale Odd Notion will pucker your lips. Strangely sweet and sipable, it’s brewed with oak chips to give it a lovely lingering of vanilla. Tip one back and let the temptation of tart steal your facebuds.

Bottle thanks to swalden28. Clear brown pour. Aroma is malty, toffee, nutty. Flavor is just some off sourness.

Sample at the Smugglers Notch BrewFest - Poured a cloudy brownish amber in color with a light tan head. Aroma is faint of vanilla and stronger of apples or pears. Flavor is initially quite sour, but not unpleasant, and it surprisingly becomes sweeter as it warms in your mouth. Style-wise this is not a particularly good sour ale, but it was more drinkable than I expected.

12 oz bottle: Pours a clear brownish/amber with a medium off white head that lings for quite a while. Aroma is floral, sour, fruity and candy-like. Taste is slightly sour kind of weak for a sour ale in my honest opinion. A nicely acidic taste makes your mouth pucker only slightly. Palate has nice carbonation with a lingering sour taste in that aftertaste. OVerall, Looks decent, smells good, Taste is alright, and palate is decent. Nothing to write home about, but drinkable. Cheers!

Watery amber pour with little head, lots of visible carbonation. Very grainy aroma. Flavor has the slightest hint of sourness. Very watery with husk notes. Watery palate. I dunno, seems to be one of the lamest sours you’ll ever try.

My first sour ale. It is indeed oddly sweet... there is something sweet in there. Unfortunately it’s a touch cloying. Not bad, but not great.

ྫྷ ounce bottle - pint glass) Obtained this from the winter sampler pack. Cloudy amber red liquid. Has little head that leads to no lacing. Has a sour taste that gives it drinkability. Has an oily palate. If you are intrested in sour ales look some where else if you can.

Bottle. Pours an orange brown color with a small off-white head. Aromas of vanilla, sour cherries, and granny smith apples. This one is sour indeed, although not overwhelmingly so. The tartness hits me in the back of the tongue and lingers with subtle sweetness and no hop presence. A touch of oaky woodiness as well. Pretty thin, medium carbonation. This isn’t anything spectacular, but I wouldn’t say it’s nearly as bad as it’s rated.

Pours a murky brownish amber with a small off white head. Aroma is slightly sour juice with toasted biscuity malt. Taste is very mildly sour, lots of apple and grape juice flavors as well. This beer is strange indeed- strangely mild and bland. Medium thin body with smooth carbonation.

A Mes rate. Bottle at Duff’s.
Murky pond water brown with a thin off white head. Smells like a bad bottle conditioned Englsh ale. Tastes a bit pukey. Faint sourness, fruity malt. Feels like an infection goin on too. Really not too good.
