Slipstream (350), USA Feb 18, 2008 Label has a nice drawing of a tower in a snowstorm - is this a typical Vermont scene? I was surprised to see that this is wheat beer - or a half wheat beer, I guess. Dark brown and cloudy with a light head. Nice aromatic hops. The taste is rich with malt and hops - coffee, pine, bread, a little astringency. It is not too sweet, but the malt is still present. Hops and herbal sweetness in the finish. Not astonishing, but well-balanced and darn good - cheers to you, Burlington! Damico (50), Norristown, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 15, 2008 This was a very deep brown ale with a smooth body and flavor. It wasn’t too hopped up or filled with rich spices, just nice subtle flavors that a dark ale should have. The bottle label reminded of those decorated in Belgium for Christmas such as the Noels or the Still Nacht. sinkr (129), Lusby, Maryland, USA Dec 12, 2007 Pours from the bottle a nice head that hangs around only a few seconds or until your first sip, then dissipates into a fine film. Has a pungent and hoppy aroma as well as a decent hoppy and thick, and slightly sweet taste. A very decent winterish brew or certain. joebudzjoe (102), Connecticut, USA Mar 13, 2008 tan head with a dark brown cloudy body. smells like hops. the palate is nicely complex but difficult to point out the comparisons. nice dry finish.
