JPDIPSO (4397), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Oct 20, 2008 Lightly hazed lightly golden color. Slowly dissipating off-white head. Very light cream caramel and hints of citric hops. A touch of light herbs detected in the background. Some pale malt are quickly ushered out by sharp mixed spices and herbs. The spices act to bring out the alcohol. A fairly messy disjointed pilsener. Hops schedule just seems sloppy and the malt backing is weak. DocLock (4175), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 4, 2008 Pouring this now. Bottle that Matt capone generously pulled from a 12 pack during an amazingly busy event today. The pour is medium urine yellow with 3-fingers of frothy white head and clingy above average lacing. The nose is Saaz hoppy, pale malty, with some fruity, peppery notes. The taste is crisp, a bit sweet, with Saaz hops, pale malt, honey, apricotty fruit, and some grainy and lemongrassy notes. Medium palate. As it warms, it gets a bit bitter and more hoppy. Cletus (3602), Connecticut, USA Nov 16, 2008 Pours gold with a white head. Smells of dry malt, dough, earthy. Tastes of pepper, dry malt, toasty hints. Decent. Ughsmash (3148), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Oct 12, 2008 Bottled. Poured clear bright golden with a short cap of white head. The aroma picked up lemon zest upfront with a bit of soft bready backing.. spicier and a touch syrupy on the nose.. smelled aiight. The flavor had tangy lemon throughout with some spicy floral notes.. juicy bread, honey, and lighter fruity sweetness at the core.. syrupy on the back-end with more honey. Light-bodied and leaning toward the bitterness/lemon souness overall.. sticky-sweet at the end, which interfered with what might have been a refreshing feel.. OK overall, and certainly drinkable.
