Taste is minimal at first, but quickly develops into peach and bread, before giving way to a finish of moderate herbal bitterness tinged lightly floral. Light-medium body, with slight acidity. Enjoyable beer. hopdog (5630), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a medium yellow color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of wet grass, lemons and a little mustiness. Tastes of grass (not as strong, musty or wet as the aroma), and citrus. Bottle labeled best before the end of March. jcwattsrugger (5582), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 5, 2007 Several months old. A magnificient pour showcasing a thick, very frothy, rocky white head that keeps being replenished by natural and healthy carbonation. Hazy rather pale golden hue. It is beyond me how this came about being a winter seasonal, but struck me as what would make a terrific summer seasonal. Excellently extracted grainy, hay-like, strawy, fresh malts procure a firm cerealic feel in mouth. Medium bodied and displaying a belgianesque carbonation. Not very hoppy at this age, but still gently floral and softly spicy. More surprising is the Ringwood yeastiness that has just a soft buttery note to an otherwise rather estery, fruity flavour profile. Very coherent Ringwood+malt combo, delicately done. Felt more of a belgian ale to me and very drinkable at first, though I must confess I grew a bit tired after my first glass, but that’s probably just because Orval was following. Very fine stuff imo. Taste is bland and watery with some basic lemon shining thorugh. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 4, 2008 Straw color with off-white head. Nose is grainy pale malt, some fruity yeasty esters, mild spiciness. Tastes pale malty, somewhat sweet yet creamy, with a solid fruity and yeasty spicy ester flavor. Fairly smooth. Not great, but I’d drink it again. Lubiere (4552), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 17, 2001 Average lager/pils look and aroma -- bit of skunkiness it seemed to me. Doesn’t taste much like an ’ale’ at all, and not distinctive or memorable in any way. Boring flavor and finish, another disappointment from Magic Hat.
