Vanilla, bourbony aroma that dominates the rest of the beer. Medium bodied, quite sweet, very hot. Didn’t finish half the glass. Did we have the same beer? | 4.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Nov 10, 2007 I ordered this beer having NO clue what it was going to be. All I knew was that it was 10% and aged in bourbon oak. WOW. This is maybe the most complex and flavorful brew I have EVER come upon. At first in the aroma I pick up the typical belgian character, yeasty and spicy... and then what’s this? A very intriguing strong oak and alcohol presence. This beverage needs to touch my tongue immediately... Extremely sweet but not cloying. Mouthfeel is extremely rich but I am still thirsty. I taste a huge oak presence and WHISKEY... oh YES... in a very GOOD way. This beer is so RICH and so HEAVY... yet I can’t get enough. Thank you MAGNOLIA.
